Crock pot applesauce

One of my good friends, Emily Weddle, gave me a bag full of home grown apples yesterday!!  So today I made some applesauce in the crock pot (using the recipe Emily sent me!).  My husband is an applesauce fanatic, so I made a big batch and put a majority of it in the freezer to pull out when we want some.  Here is the super easy recipe!  THANKS EMILY!!

Ingredients:
  • Bag of apples (around 20 apples)
  • 1-2 cups of water
  • 1/2 cup of sugar (if your apples are tart, you might need to add more sugar)
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
Directions:

First you need to wash all the apples.

Next, core the apples. If you like chunky applesauce, you can even leave the skin on (which is what I did) or you can go ahead and peel them if you like applesauce a little more smooth.  Then, cut the apples into cubes and throw them in the crock pot.

Now add the sugar, cinnamon, and water.  Don't forget to stir it up!

Cover and cook on high for about 3 1/2 hours.  You will know that the applesauce is done when the apples mush when you stir it.  Once done, give it a good stirring!  Tada!  There you have it!  This tastes amazing and leaves your house smelling heavenly!

Next on my list is to make applesauce, minus the sugar and cinnamon, for little Dawson to eat!

  1. Cute blog, Amanda!! And way to go on making all that applesauce to have for future use. You should be stocked up for a while with all that you made! =) I like to do the same and freeze what's left in ice cube trays... Mason eats most of the applesauce in our house so I'll just take out a few cubes at time. Works great.
